We are trying to create crop-specific integrated value chains empowered by technology and efficient management.
The model of a small landholding farmer being independent and self-sufficient is very difficult to achieve. Climate change and the overuse of fertilizers over the past few decades have made this worse.
In 2016, we started our journey with 230 farmers through SHGs but were unable to access the market linkages effectively.
With this in mind, Agrigenic Farmers Producer Company Limited was registered in 2020 to solve the issue of scalability, farmer sustainability, and consumer benefit.
It’s 100% owned by farmers who have equal voting rights regardless of their holding size.
We believe that it’s possible to ensure a sustainable income for the small and marginal farmers of the developing world and we intend to do this without burdening end consumers. By removing unnecessary middlemen, better logistics, reduction in post-harvest losses, and providing trust and transparency to consumers, we can achieve sustainability for the farmers, which is sufficient for a life of dignity for them and their families and provide quality and assurance to consumers.
Our Achievements
Organic Farming Program
- 500 farmers under C-2 status of Certification.
- The area under Certification: 724.80 Ha.
- Villages: a total of 6 villages covered Katol Taluka of Nagpur district. (Ambada, Bhorgad, Chaurepathar, Fetri, Junewani & Khandala Kh.).
- Engaged with farmers since 2016 through different SHGs.
Capacity building & supply chain linkages of organic cotton is a major focus
Able to deliver 200 MT of raw cotton to Arvind Ltd. At C-1 status with 8% premium.
In discussion with Research Institutes for the Development of Organic cotton Seed banks.
Established an Organic Input center in the program area which was led by women program farmers.
Having experience in the Export of vegetables & Fruits to the Middle East since 2020. As of date, 650 MT Okara & 400 MT chili has been successfully exported.
Having established a farmer base with 1500 member farmers of the FPO.
Well-qualified & experienced staff involved in training, capacity building & management as per Organic Norms.
Program for incubation of 10 Farmer Collectives (FPOs) launched and currently established 7 FPOs
The Geo-tagging of all the farmers in completed. Successfully sold 40 MT of Tur dal of program farmers with 120-130 price.
Value Chain Development
- In process of establishing of Customer hiring center.
- In process of Establishment of Dal mill & processing facility in 10000m2 area.
- Working on Smart Agriculture and AI-based technology (Precision farming).
- In process of piloting our traceability and transparency solution, which will be used on Fruits & Vegetable Products in the initial stage.
- In process of launching our brand for the domestic market in November.
- In discussions with supermarkets for purchase of farmers’ agricultural produce and onboarding 2 supermarkets.
